Tangy Pizza Dough

Introduction

This is a quick dough that is great to use as a pizza dough or flat bread crust. Although it does rise, so it is not a true flat bread. Tangy and sweet it is shown here topped with burrata, arugula, and prosciutto. It comes together in a food processor, but I have made this by hand many times.

Ingredients

1 ¾ cups Flour, plush a bit more for dusting
 1 ½ tsp Yeast
 ¾ tsp Salt
 ¾ cup Greek Yogurt
 1 tbsp Honey
 ¼ cup Water

Directions

1

In a food processor, add the flour, yeast, and salt, and process until well combined, about 5 seconds.

2

Add the yogurt, honey, and water. Process until the mixture forms a ball, about 30 seconds; the dough should be tacky. If it is too dry add more water about a tablespoon at a time, and pulse until incorporated.

3

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead the dough until it forms a smooth ball.

4

Divide the dough in half and form each half into a tight ball. Separate the dough balls by 6 to 8 inches and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise until doubled in size, 1 to 11/2 hours.

5

About an hour before baking, pre-heat the oven to 500°F.

6

Stretch each ball on a lightly floured counter into an oval about 6 inches by 12 inches.

7

Top and bake.
